Even the apparent benign ones may become life threatening if not attended to. Any person with tortuous veins in any part of the body should consult a medical doctor for attention. I am more interested in prevention of varicose veins as, they say, prevention is better than cure. Few things we can do to prevent the development of varicose veins include: exercising, weight control, avoiding long periods of standing or sitting, not wearing tight clothes and leg elevation, etc. Thanks once again.
